I am a simple man who desires to be a lover and servant of God, and someone who longs to hear, “Well done, My good and faithful servant, come and share your master’s happiness.” I want to be able to stand before Him with my head held high, not staring at the ground wishing I could escape from His presence.

I don’t have a college degree, and I have never pastored a church—but neither did the disciples. You might ask, “Then why should I listen to you?” My answer is simple: because I’m one of you.

I’m a layman who has experienced both victories and temporary defeats throughout my decades-long Christian walk. I’ve known the ups and downs of battles against the enemy—overcoming temptations and sometimes not. I’ve persevered through hardships, struggles, and failures. I’ve fallen down and gotten back up. I’ve faced sorrows, regrets, and the everyday frustrations of life.

As Paul said in Philippians 4:11, “...I have learned how to be content whatever the situation,” because I believe him when he says in verse 13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

When we learn to give God control over our lives, we can be assured that “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called, according to His purpose.”
