ABC Salvation Plan

Admit to God that you are a sinner. Everyone needs salvation. We all have sinned. Sin is simply

the choice to go your own way, rather than to acknowledge God’s authority over your life. When

we do our own thing, rather than walking in obedience to God, that is sin. Roman 3:23 says,

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” “For all” covers everyone. We have

all failed, we are all sinners. Read Romans 3:10-18 for more information.

The final outcome of sin is spiritual death. Romans 6:23a says, “For the wages of sin is death;”

This death is eternal separation from God. By God’s perfect scales of justice, we all are guilty of

sin. Our sentence is death, and the punishment is to be eternally separated from God’s presence.

That’s the bad news.

The good news? Romans 6:23b says, “but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” We have a way out from the impending punishment. If we will admit that we are a sinner and separated from God, we are taking the first step of repentance. Repentance is simply turning from our sinful way and turning toward God.

Believe in Jesus Christ. Believe that He is God’s Son. Believe that He offers you the free gift of salvation and the forgiveness of your sins. God loves you. That may sound like a cliche, but it is

the truth. You have done nothing to earn His love, you have done nothing worthy of His

salvation. He offers it as a gift to you, the child He loves unconditionally. Because of the death

of Jesus on the cross, God provided salvation to everyone who will repent of their sins and trust

in Jesus. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that

whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Confess your belief in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour to other people. Romans 10:9-10

says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Share your decision

with others. Talk to a pastor or a Christian friend about this life-changing decision. Follow

Christ’s example and ask to be baptised by immersion in water as a public expression of your

inward change. Water baptism does not save you, but it will serve as a visual representation of

your old sinful self going beneath the water of death, and being raised again a new person in

Christ. In Scripture, baptism always followed conversion, and was always in the mode of

immersion.
