America

America

In the hearts of many men
Came thoughts of revolution
Freedom from the king
Seemed to be the only solution.

A call to arms was sounded forth
And many men fought and died.
What became of their valiant fight
Was left up to those who survived.

A great nation of freedom
Arose from the ashes
Of those historic battles,
Skirmishes and clashes.

A constitution was written
A great declaration proclaimed
The only thing left to decide
Was what would it be named.

The United States of America
Was what our forefathers decided
Freedom to think, freedom to speak
If only we could stay undivided.

But divided we became
In that great Civil War
But we ended up more united
Even stronger than before.

Not everyone was free yet
Racial tension filled the air
For the Indians and the blacks
The nation was still unfair.

But as time passed on
Even these came to be
Proud members of
This nation of the free.

Yet once again
There is unrest in the land
As politicians seek to take
The freedom from our hands.

For the sake of public safety
Is the cry of all these fakers
Not caring one bit that it
Makes them promise-breakers.

What is to become
Of this once great nation
Will be left to the hands
Of the next generation.

So I plead to those young citizens
The generations yet to come
Don’t forsake individual freedoms
Don’t give up on what was won,

By the blood and the sweat
Of millions of young men
Who fought hard and died
To bring tyranny to an end.

Communist or Socialist
Should not a consideration be
Only liberty and freedom
Should be our destiny.

So think hard and long
Don’t heed those educators
Whose thinking is all askew
With some even admiring dictators.

The home of the brave
May it always be so
The land of the free
Hold on to it, don’t let it go!
America!
